The Testa di Moro h 38 cm, Moor Male, Antique Mother of Pearl Gold and Lustre, a Sicilian Moor's Head, is modelled and decorated by hand by Ceramiche Sofia in Caltagirone. The face is glossy black, with amber eyes, a moustache and goatee in relief and orange lips; the turban and the crown are in antique mother of pearl, an ivory with a brown patina in the grooves. On the forehead there is a gold fan-shaped frieze, red lustre spheres sit on the crown and at the sides of the turban, and gold spheres at the ears.
